What are the dates and location of the Conference?

The Conference opens with registration and a reception the evening of Monday, May 14, 2018, and will close Wednesday, May 16, 2018. The entire Conference, including entertainment and networking events, will be at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel and Marina, in downtown Tampa, Florida.

What is the Conference agenda? Who are the Conference Speakers?

What is the appropriate dress for the Conference? Is the dress the same for the evening events?

Business casual attire or military Uniform of the Day (UOD) is recommended for all Conference sessions. Please feel free to dress more casually for evening events.

Where do I pick up my badge? What form of identification do I need to provide?

Please plan to check in at the on-site registration desk prior to the Welcome Reception at 7:00 p.m. on Monday May 14, 2018. The registration desk will be located on the second floor of the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel. For security purposes, please be prepared to show proper identification upon check-in to collect your badge and conference materials. A Conference badge is required for admittance to all Conference sessions, meals, and events.

What is the process to request special services to accommodate dietary needs, hearing impairment, etc.?

You can indicate any special needs you have during the online registration request process so we can make your Conference experience as comfortable as possible.

Will I receive a confirmation? In what form? How soon?

We’ll send a confirmation by e-mail as soon as we receive your registration request. You’ll receive a subsequent e-mail as soon as we are able to confirm whether your registration request can be accommodated.

Can I register for the Conference on site?

Yes, but you should be aware that the Conference is expected to sell out in advance. In addition, room reservations must be made directly by attendees and should be made well in advance.

How do I register?

You can quickly and easily request registration online. If your registration can be accommodated, you’ll receive a confirmation, and you’ll have a complete Conference package waiting for you on site when you check in at the Conference registration desk.

How much does it cost to attend the Conference?

The registration fee is $50 for all attendees.

Will media be present at Security Solutions 2018?

No members of the press have been invited to Security Solutions 2018 and media will not be admitted to conference events.

Where can I obtain more information on sessions?

We will be continually updating session information on the Agenda page of this website.

Will there be an exhibit hall or demonstrations?

In keeping with the educational nature of this Conference, there will be no trade show booths or similar exhibits. There will be workshops and technology centers open throughout most of the Conference, featuring technical solutions and staffed with knowledgeable business and technical personnel from Telos and various industry sponsors.

What training opportunities will there be?

Several sessions will include practical security tips and be educational in structure. You can also sign up to have your attendance at this Conference submitted for CISSP continuing education credits. Simply provide your ISC2 member number when you request registration. Check the Conference agenda for updates on educational opportunities during the Conference.

How do I register for sessions?

By completing registration for the Conference you’ll automatically gain access to all sessions. You do not need to indicate which sessions you want to attend and may move freely among sessions throughout the Conference.

Conference Events

What other events are planned during the Conference?

In addition to the general sessions, breakout sessions, and meals during the Conference, there are additional activities for networking and information sharing in a relaxed atmosphere. These events include a Welcome Reception Monday evening, an evening of entertainment and networking on Tuesday, and a pool side happy hour on Wednesday.

Hotel Accomodations

Do I make hotel reservations directly or through the Conference registration?

All attendees are responsible for making their own hotel room reservations directly with the Conference hotel. Telos has reserved a block of rooms at special conference hotel rates; however, the hotel has the option to release untaken rooms to non-Conference guests as the Conference date approaches. The Tampa Marriott Waterside is a popular hotel, so you should make your hotel reservations as soon as possible, deadline for the special rate is April 23, 2018. Details are provided on the Travel page of this website.

Why is the special conference room rate higher than current government per diem?

The per diem rate for lodging in Tampa is $120.00 per day while combined per diem for lodging, food and incidentals is $174.00. Although the negotiated room rate of $150 is higher than lodging per diem, considering that meals are provided as part of the conference, the total expense is within per diem guidelines.

What are the options for hotel accommodations?

The Conference — including all sessions, meals, and evening functions — will be held at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel and Marina. Telos has arranged a special rate of $150 per night for all attendees, and details are provided on the Travel page of this website.

Travel

What airport should I fly into?

The airport nearest to the Tampa Marriott Waterside is Tampa International Airport (airport code TPA), located about 10 miles and 15-20 minutes from the hotel. Airlines serving Tampa, and transportation options from the airport, are listed on the Travel page of this website. Other nearby airports are Sarasota Bradenton International (SRQ) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) about 60 and 90 miles from the conference hotel, respectively.

Should I make my own air travel reservations? Is there a discounted airline rate that I can take advantage of when making my reservation?

All conference attendees make their own air travel arrangements. There is no preferred airline for this event, as most companies and government entities have negotiated rates with various airline carriers.

What is the weather like in Tampa during mid May?

The average annual temperature in Tampa is 73 degrees. In the spring the days are pleasantly warm, and the evenings are a bit cooler, particularly near the bay and waterways, where a light jacket or sweater is recommended. If you plan to be outside for extended periods of the day, sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher is a good idea.
