Mr. Jim Foley
Chief Technology Officer for Joe Gibbs Racing
Jim Foley is Chief Technology Officer for Joe Gibbs Racing. He joined the team in 2012 and has served in his current role since January 2015. He is responsible for all aspects of information technology at JGR.
Foley has over 20 years of experience in motorsports. After graduating from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering, he started his career in the engineering department for Rahal Letterman Racing and was part of the team that captured the 2004 Indianapolis 500. He would move to NASCAR and Hendrick Motorsports in 2006 where he spent two years as a Race Engineer before being asked to establish the engineering department for Junior Motorsports in 2008. Prior to joining Joe Gibbs Racing, Foley would serve as the Lead Applications Engineer at Stewart-Haas Racing and was part of the organization’s 2011 Championship Season.
Foley has continued his winning ways since joining JGR as the organization captured the 2019 and 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championships along with the 2020, 2019 and 2016 Daytona 500. Throughout his career Foley has focused on leveraging technology to give teams an advantage in the highly competitive and fast paced field of motorsports.
