Mr. Tim Rod
Chief Technology Officer, Red River
Tim Rod is currently the Chief Technology Officer for Red River, where he provides the technical vision for the company, as well as developing the strategy to execute on that vision. Mr. Rod aids in acquisition efforts, defines goals, and contributes to risk analysis to align with Red River’s overall business objectives.
Prior to Red River, Mr. Rod worked for Cisco, with responsibility for identifying and executing against strategic go-to-market priorities for evolution and growth of Cisco’s $13B CX business, particularly with respect to delivery of CX through partners. In this role, Mr. Rod influenced the Cisco Executive Leadership Team, CX Senior Leadership Team, and cross-functional business leaders, enabling effective and informed decisions.
Before joining the CX team, Mr. Rod’s led the global relationships with Cisco’s most strategic Converged Infrastructure and Storage Technology partners, covering Dell Technologies (Dell, Dell EMC, VMware, Pivotal, Virtustream, SecureWorks and RSA), NetApp and Pure Storage. Mr. Rod led business development, go-to-market, technical strategy, innovation, collaboration, and engineering alignment between Cisco and these partners.
Prior to Cisco, Mr. Rod was most recently President of Rod Consulting Group, Inc. (RCG), a management consulting and information security solutions firm. Before forming RCG, Mr. Rod was CTO and CIO at Global Technology Resources, Inc. (GTRI) where he had overall strategic, resource and budget responsibilities for this consulting solutions integrator.
Mr. Rod’s other experience includes roles at Fontainebleau Resorts (SVP/CIO) and Hyatt Hotels (VP/Divisional CIO). Mr. Rod maintains several advanced certifications in security, to include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), among others. Mr. Rod is a military veteran, having spent 9 years in the military, on active duty in the Army, and as a reservist in the Army National Guard.
Mr. Rod holds a Professional Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, an MBA from Tulane University, with a double concentration in both Finance and IT, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, also from Tulane. He is a Castle Rock, Colorado resident and an avid cyclist.
